Antec Eleven Hundred Gaming Series case exclusive preview |
| http://www.tweaktown.com Earlier today we made our way over to the Antec Taipei office where we got given access to an exclusive video preview of the upcoming Eleven Hundred Gaming Series computer case. The Eleven Hundred is the flagship model in Antec\'s gaming series of cases which brings with it full E-ATX and XL-ATX motherboard support and support for up to three-way SLI and four-way CrossFireX. It\'s a stylish looking case which immediately indicates great quality as we have come to expect from Antec cases in the past. It looks just like a typical Antec product with included traditional features we\'ve seen in the past, but it\'s also mixing in a blend of new features. On the top of the case is a 200mm exhaust fan with a blue LED and in total the case supports up to nine fans in total for some pretty extreme cooling potential. In the past we\'ve seen Antec including the power and reset buttons towards the front top of their cases, but this time around with the Eleven Hundred they are move to the top front of the case, which is a much better position especially for when the case is sitting on the ground. Also on the front of the case are two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports as well as your standard audio ports as well as a HDD activity indication LED. On the right side of the case Antec have spiced things up a little by including an exhaust fan mount, which is a new feature. On the left side panel there is a large window with room to mount two more exhaust fans. Inside the case everything looks as it should be all the requirements we expect to see from a good case marked. This time around Antec added in six Grommet lined cable routing holes for cable management. Behind the motherboard tray and between the right side panel there is 36mm of space to hide your cables, which should be plenty for producing a good system build. Antec expects the Eleven Hundred to start shipping early next month just in time for Christmas with an MSRP of $129.95 USD. Check the video for our full exclusive hands-on preview. ... |

BitFenix Spectre Pro cooling fans exclusive preview |
| http://www.tweaktown.com We shot this video a little while ago now, but today BitFenix is releasing its new range of Spectre Pro and Spectre Pro LED cooling fans. You may well be familiar with the Spectre series of cooling fans from BitFenix, but today they up the stakes with the \"Pro\" series which improve over the old series with better performance and looks in mind. There is a whole bunch of fans including 12cm, 14cm, 20cm and 23cm and they come in a range of colors including black (non-LED), white, blue and red. GIGABYTE 3D Dual UEFI BIOS hands-on with X79-UD7 motherboard |
| http://www.tweaktown.com Now that the Intel NDA is up for the X79 Express chipset, we can finally let fly with all of our content on the subject. Our latest is from the GIGABYTE headquarters here in Taipei where last week we visited them and got a good look at their range of motherboards to support the new Socket 2011 Intel processors. Since we\'ve already spent a good amount of time previewing some GIGABYTE X79 boards and others, we didn\'t want to focus too much on the boards themselves, but some of the features included. We will start off with the all new 3D Dual UEFI BIOS. 3D, you say? Yes - well probably not the kind of 3D you are thinking with movies and the need to pull out some fancy active shutter glasses. This new BIOS from GIGABYTE focuses on an easy to use experience for people who may be venturing into the BIOS for the first time, yet it is still loaded full of advanced settings for advanced users and overclockers who know what they are doing. When first loading the BIOS, you are shown a full size picture of your motherboard, which can be rotated to show different angles of the board. Using your mouse, you move the cursor over different parts of the system and it gives you a description of what type of options and settings you can change for that part of the motherboard. GIGABYTE has employed a larger than usual 64MB ROM for its 3D BIOS and that allows a good amount of interactivity with a rather fancy and stylish BIOS. Detailed preview of ASRock X79 Overclock King Motherboards |
| http://www.tweaktown.com Today is the big day for Intel and its new Sandy Bridge-E processors and X79 Express chipset platform. The NDA just came off moments ago and now we can give you the full run-down on the ASRock X79 Overclock King Series of motherboards based off the new platform. Last week we met up with Chris Lee, Director of Marketing, at the ASRock HQ here in Taipei where he gave us a full introduction to its first batch of X79 motherboards. ASRock is launching with five X79 boards right now including the Extreme3, Extreme4-M (Micro-ATX), Extreme4, Extreme7 and the Extreme9. We spent most of our time in the video above focused on the top-dog, the ASRock X79 Extreme9. This board is packed out with loads of good features including eight DDR3 DIMM slots for quad-channel memory support, five PCI-E x16 slots, active fan cooling for the X79 chipset, loads of SATA-III ports and full digital VRM power management with 18 phases of power for RAM (2) and CPU (16). One of the big additions with the Extreme9 is the bundle inclusion of the ASRock Game Blaster which is a PCI-E x1 add-on audio and LAN card which uses the quad-core Creative SoundCore 3D audio processing chip for greatly improved gaming audio support over usual onboard audio usually found on most motherboards. It comes with audio support for things like THX TruStudio Pro which provides THX TruStudio Pro Crystalizer, EAX and more. It also packs in another gigabit LAN port for functions such as dual LAN support. On the software side of things, as usual, ASRock with each launch comes out with something new. This time it is ASRock XFast RAM and it makes good use of all the additional RAM support that some users will be piling onto their X79 motherboards. As some of you will know, Windows 32-bit only supports up to 4GB of RAM, so to make use of all that extra unused RAM that some users will have that are not running a 64-bit version of Windows, XFast RAM takes care of that. You can assign a RAM disk at a capacity of your choice using your system RAM ... |

GIGABYTE 3D Power hands-on with G1. Assassin 2 X79 motherboard |
| http://www.tweaktown.com We are really letting loose now with our Intel X79 Express content and next up is another GIGABYTE video related to said product and this time it\'s another software feature called 3D Power and it\'s included with GIGABYTE\'s full range of X79 motherboards that should be online at many places as of now. 3D is obviously a big theme with GIGABYTE\'s X79 range of products and while there is little \"3D\" as we know about GIGABYTE\'s new software utility, 3D Power, we do like the insane level of control it gives you over your brand spanking new motherboard. 3D Power gets its name for its 3-way digital engine which allows you to control digital CPU power as well as both digital memory power controllers. This is all made possible since GIGABYTE\'s full range of X79 motherboards use an all digital power system with added controllers which give you the ability to fine tune power related options and settings down to a level we\'ve never really seen before. 3D Power gives you the ability to control voltage, phases and frequency. While it\'s true some users will never ever need to use this tool and the vast majority of users and even some experienced users won\'t know what the heck they are doing, these extreme fine tuning options are there. So, for users that do know what they are doing and are trying to either fine tune power savings or aim for the highest overclock on the planet, it\'s not such a bad tool to have on your side at all. BitFenix Raider computer case exclusive hands-on preview |
| http://www.tweaktown.com Earlier this week we visited the BitFenix office here in Taipei and got a look at its brand new Raider computer case which is being released today. David from BitFenix in the video below introduces us to the Raider. He explains that the Raider is 100% focused on airflow with a mesh finish from the top all the way to the front of the case. The case features the nice and smooth BitFenix SofTouch finish - even the power button and fan controller switch on the top front right of the case features the SofTouch treatment. Gone are USB 2.0 ports as the Raider supports four USB 3.0 ports. There is also support for users with older motherboards without USB 3.0 by way of standard USB 2.0 adapters on the same internal cable. Moving on to the inside of the case, the drive bays are all tool-free and there are five optical drive bays and room for six hard drives. At the bottom of the case is room for an additional 2.5-inch drive, meaning the case can support up to seven SSDs or 2.5-inch hard drives, if you can get your hands on one. Cable management is also taken care of well with lots of room behind the motherboard tray for large cables and rubber cable management holes should mean a neat and tidy case. |
