Today, we are going to take a look at a new CPU cooler from Xigmatek ,the Gaia SD1283. The Gaia is another HDT (Heat pipe Direct touch) based cooler, in traditional coolers, the heat is transferred from the CPU IHS, to the CPU Cooler block, then to the heat-pipes. HDT coolers integrate the heat pipes into the CPU Cooler block, and so the heat-pipes are in direct contact with the CPU IHS. The Gaia features three 8mm heat-pipes and a single 120mm fan, it can also be run in two fan mode if you want to add a second fan. The cooler offers universal fitting for both current Intel and AMD sockets, but how will it cope with our test set up? Read on to find out...
