Five years ago, when SanDisk and Sony announced the development of the “Memory Stick Micro” or “M2” format many users wondered why?  Was this just another way for Sony to squeeze out more money from a user-base that already invested a millions of dollars in their proprietary Memory Stick Duo format?  What would the Micro M2 be used for anyway?  At the time, cameras, mobile phones, and video games weren’t as compact as they are today, but SanDisk and Sony had a vision. If you build it, they will come.It took a few years, but electronic devices are as small as anyone really wants them, and memory prices are very affordable.  With the holiday shopping season coming to a close, many users who received a great gift from Santa are looking around to expanding the memory of their new devices. Today, we look at the 8GB version of the SanDisk Memory Stick Micro (M2) designed specifically for Sony’s PlayStation Portable Go or PSPGo handheld electronic gaming system.  The SanDisk M2 is not only an ultra-small IC recording media designed for the PSPGo, but it is also designed to work for the growing storage needs of highly compact, multifunctional mobile phones and cameras.
