Hello, folks. It's that time again... power supply reviewing time. Today, I'm getting my pawprints all over the NZXT Hale82 850 watt unit. This is an 80 Plus Bronze certified semi modular affair being targeted at people who want good, clean power but aren't quite ready or able to fork out the big bucks on the more expensive units on the market.Before we get into the usual box pictures, NZXT wanted me to give you a little bit of info on their new "Less Than Three" service. Basically, what this means is that you can buy any of their power supplies for less than three dollars. No, wait... that's wrong. It means you can only have three NZXT units at the same time. No, wait, that's wrong too. It actually means my mental age is less than three years old. Well... I guess that one's true, but it's still not what they're talking about.Less than three is NZXT's service program. What happens is, you take your power supply and register it with them the day you buy it. That's step one. Then, you take your dead power supply and slap on the shipping label they give you. That would be step two. For step three, they send you a replacement power supply. If you have a credit card, they'll cross ship. If not, you get to sit there and wait for them to test the old one first. They promise to have a new unit to your door within three business days (US and Canada only).
