After doing some research, it turns out that the company has been making data security oriented products since 1986.The CRU-DataPort SecureDock is described as a "desktop hard drive enclosure with hot-swappable encrypted drives" which is a fancy way of saying this is a hard drive enclosure that also acts as an encryptor.
