Dual GPU graphics card have been around for some time since the days of the 3DFX Interactive which was one of the dominant players in 3D graphics cards. However, the main physical problem, at least for consumers, has gennerally been that when you pair two powerful graphic processor units together on the same PCB, it will generate a tremendous heat. There have been several methods of trying to improve temperatures, and the latest is the vapor chamber technology for the behemoth GeForce GTX 590, the latest in Nvidia's flagship dual GPU lineage.
